Fire/EMS — This is what most people think of when they think of a firefighter… You will respond to fire, EMS, hazardous material and rescue calls and any other emergency or non-emergency calls that the department receives, and will participate in fire and EMS training, including training to drive the ambulances and assist our EMTs on runs.
EMS-Only — Not interested in fighting fire but still want to be involved in emergency response? EMS-only members respond as part of the ambulance crew, and will respond to a variety of types of incidents in order to provide medical, rescue and other non-fire-suppression activities. EMS-Only members can also respond to fire scenes in a non-fire-suppression role, for treatment of civilian and firefighter injuries and also to be responsible for firefighter rehab.
Administrative/Support — Want to be involved in the fire department but not sure you’re up to running on a truck? We always have opportunities available for people to help with maintenance of vehicles, administrative support, work around the station and a variety of other tasks. Just ask the chiefs… they have a list!
Cadet Program — (Non-Paid) Our cadets have the chance to be exposed to the functions of the fire department and to start training in preparation for joining the department. Being involved as a cadet is a great way to position yourself for a future career in the fire service while still in high school.
