The East Madison Fire Territory is now accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic. A one-year hiring list will be created for immediate openings and future positions as available. Applications will be accepted through February 17^th, 2023, at 5:00 PM EST.

Lateral transfers will be accepted credit given for time in the Indiana 1977 Fund.

Applicant Requirements

• Valid Indiana Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) Card valid within last year (due at offer of employment)(Not required for lateral transfers)
• State of Indiana Firefighter I/II Certification
• Current State of Indiana EMT-Basic certification
• State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations certification
• Minimum of 18 years of age by time of offer

• Salary 2023 – $54,000 
• Longevity Pay – $200 per year

Requirements:

• At least 18 Years of Age
• High School Diploma or GED
• No fire or EMS certifications are required

Recruit class will provide the following certifications:

• Firefighter I & II
• Hazardous Materials Ops and Awareness
• CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)

Opportunities for Emergency Medical Technician training are also available.

Applicants with previous Fire or EMS certifications are welcome to apply and can start making runs after a short orientation (no need to wait for completion of recruit class).
